Elphie’s Nursery was a fun side project based on modern day witchcraft as it’s become more prominent recently. The company was inspired by the Alnwick Garden’s Poison Garden where each specimen is dangerous or poisonous in some way. There are a few homages to modern literary witches or speciality tools throughout this spooky branding kit.
Font
Used throughout is Benguiat Pro ITC Book Condensed, although I tweaked it for the business card title to give it some depth without being bulky.
Logo
The logo takes several elements of witchcraft. The flower is a hellebore flower, which has medicinal uses. The flower is encircled by a subtle crescent moon to break up the background but also reference moon cycles.
Color
I went with purples, yellows and greens for Elphie’s branding with this beady almost zoomed in dirt texture. The purples compliment the florals in the logo, the yellows break it up, and the green is for the love of plants.
